Former AXA and Aon claims director moves to insurer’s New York office

Andrew McBride QBE

QBE’s Andrew McBride has left the company to take up a group claims role with ACE based in New York, Insurance Times can reveal.

McBride started at AXA in 1987, where he held various roles during his 15-year stint.

He joined Aon as claims director in 2002 prior to moving to QBE three years later as claims director of QBE Insurance and then took up the same role at QBE European Operations.

A spokesman for QBE said: “We would like to thank Andrew for his contribution to QBE and wish him every success with his future career.”

The move comes just days after QBE hired ACE UK president Richard Pryce as deputy chief executive of QBE European Operations.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
