Hugh Pallot has left QBE to join Hyperion as group company secretary.

Pallot, who had worked for QBE as company secretary of European operations for eight years, will concentrate on developing Hyperion's structure and framework in his new role.

Hyperion chief executive David Howden commented: “This is a significant appointment for the group. We have experienced tremendous growth over the past seven years and it's a trend we expect to continue. Hugh is a valuable addition to our strong executive team. He is a well known and respected figure in the insurance community and joins us with enviable experience of M&A in particular, and knowledge of the legal, compliance, governance and management framework of international broking and underwriting operations.”

Pallot said: “Hyperion is a fast growing, dynamic company – it's an exciting time to be coming on board. I'm looking forward to the new challenge and the opportunity to contribute to the continuing further success of a group which, from relatively small beginnings, and in a remarkably short timescale, has grown and developed into an international business that is now a leader in many of the markets in which it operates.”
