Former SVB professional indemnity (PI) underwriter Mark Wheeler has joined Bermuda-based insurer Quanta.
Wheeler resigned from SVB, where he was active underwriter of Syndicate 1007, in July 2003. He specialised in underwriting PI and fine art risks at SVB.
As revealed exclusively by Insurance Times last month, Quanta has applied for an FSA licence to begin writing professional risks business in the UK. A Quanta spokesman confirmed this week that the licence application was "still pending".
Quanta currently specialises in US directors' and officers' and errors and omissions insurance, and employment practices liability.
