Change follows insurer’s acquisition by US insurer Liberty and IBRC

Quinn Insurance’s new parent’s are to ditch the Quinn Direct Brand today and rename the company Liberty Insurance, the Irish Independent reports.

The change follows last year’s acquisition of Quinn Insurance by a joint venture of US insurer Liberty Mutual and  the Irish Bank Resolution Corporation, formerly Anglo Irish Bank.

Quinn Insurance went into administration in March 2010.

According to the paper, the details of the new brand will be released today, followed by a major advertising campaign.
