Quinn staff to demonstrate against regulator’s court action

Thousands of Quinn Insurance workers will take protest in Dublin and Cavan today at the decision to put the company into administration, the Belfast Telegraph reports.

As many as10,000 Quinn employees and their families are expected. They are organised by the Save Quinn Insurance Facebook site, which has almost 10,000 members. Almost 2,000 people have signed an online Save Quinn Jobs petition.

Sean Quinn is not expected to appear at today's rally, nor are any of Quinn's senior management. “This is entirely something the staff are doing,” said a source close to the company. “The management are all concentrating on talks with the bondholders and lenders.”

John Fitzpatrick, who helped organise the protest in Cavan, said: “All we are interested in are our own jobs. We are not interested in the politics of this. All we want is to get our salaries and pay our mortgages and pay our bills every month.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
