Career Innovation Zone introduced after successful pilot

Royal & SunAlliance (R&SA) has announced the launch of "The Career Innovation Zone", an interactive career intranet site to help employees with their career management. The site is now live after a successful pilot at the end of 2007.

Following the successful launch of its the Technical Academy in 2006, created to strengthen technical mastery in the areas of underwriting, claims and actuarial, R&SA has partnered with Career Innovation, a networked research and technology business, to develop a resource for employees to use the site to:

· Identify what motivates them, what they enjoy and value most at work

· Assess their skills in terms of strengths, weaknesses and interests

· Identify their career and development goals

· Improve their career management tactics by learning networking and influencing techniques

The site also includes guidance for both employees and leaders on how to have effective career discussions, and provides interactive career planning tools.

Technical Capability Development Director at R&SA, Hayley Robinson said: "We launched the Technical Academy to enhance technical knowledge to better serve customers and to help grow the business. We've created this site to complement the Academy and provide a place where employees can go to learn more about the diverse opportunities within our global technical community.

"We want to ensure that we provide ongoing learning and development opportunities for all our technical experts. Successful careers benefit employees, leaders and the organisation as a whole and this can only serve to improve the business and customer experience going forward."
