Simon Townsend to depart this month
Towergate’s regional managing director for the south east, Simon Townsend, has resigned from the broker and will leave at the end of the month.
According to the FCA register, Townsend resigned on 31 December. He joined Towergate in 2010.
Towergate has not yet named Townsend’s replacement.
Townsend’s resignation follows the departure of Towergate Underwriting sales and marketing director James McCaffrey, and retail director Paul Williams.
Asked about the high number of staff departures in November, chief executive Mark Hodges told Insurance Times: “If you go back over the past 18–24 months a number of people have moved on from the group for a variety of reasons, but we have had a fantastic record of attracting talent to the group.
“I am very confident that through the acquisitions we are doing and internal promotions the talent pool in Towergate is improving over time.”
