Broker expands specialty and North American divisions

Lloyd's (re)insurance broker RFIB Group has appointed Charles Vermont as a broker in its specialty division and Jeannette Smith as associate division director to its North American division.

Vermont has joined RFIB from Rattner Mackenzie where he brokered all forms of worldwide property, casualty and terrorism insurance, reinsurance and retrocession.

RFIB chief executive Marshall King said: “Charles is an expert at designing, placing and servicing programmes for casualty reinsurance clients. This, coupled with his experience in direct and binding authority insurance, makes him a natural fit for our specialty division. We feel sure that Charles will be a valuable asset to the Group as we grow and develop our non-marine business.”

Smith joins RFIB from Harman Kemp where she was associate director and managed and developed its binding authority business portfolio. She was previously at Hiscox Syndicates Limited and Royal and SunAlliance.

King added: “Having gained considerable experience at RSA, Hiscox and most recently at Harman Kemp, Jeannette has a wealth of experience in the North American market. In her new role, Jeannette will be responsible for expanding and strengthening the capabilities of RFIB’s delegated authorities team.

“We are always on the look out for talented additions to our successful and growing teams and are delighted to welcome both Charles and Jeannette to RFIB.”
