Insurer launches product designed for small business tradesmen

RSA has launched a new tradesman product available on-line through imarket and for brokers using Acturis.

The product is designed for businesses with up to five employees and covers a wide range of trades from decorators, builders, carpenters and electricians through to some of the more unusual occupations such as Feng Shui consultants, butlers and sculptors.

It is aimed predominantly at businesses that operate mainly at their customer's premises.

A standard cover of Public and Products liability is provided as well as optional covers such as Employer's Liability and Tools cover, which can include tools left in a vehicle over night.

The cover is rated directly on the number of workers engaged in the business.

Mark Skinner, small business director at RSA, said: "I am delighted to add Tradesman to the range of RSA small business products available on iMarket and Acturis, taking the total number of our on-line products to four, in addition to van and business car on EDI.

"We are continuing to adapt to the changing needs of our brokers and this latest product can be quoted for and purchased within just a few minutes."

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
Many congratulations to all the worthy winners and as always, huge thanks to our sponsors for their support and our judges for their expertise.
