RSA has won a contract to underwrite insurance products offered by John Lewis Insurance.

RSA will underwrite wedding and event and pet products from today and home insurance from January 2013.

The pet product will offer three different levels of cover and includes 24-hour help and advice from vetfone veterinary nurses and complementary treatments, such as physiotherapy, acupuncture and behavioural treatments. There is also no upper limit for vets’ fees, regardless of the age of the pet.

The wedding and event product has six levels of cover, and includes cancellation or rearrangement cover, loss or damage, failure of suppliers and wedding ring cover.

The new deal with John Lewis adds to RSA’s existing partnerships with Tesco, Home Retail Group (Argos and Homebase), National Australia Group, Yorkshire Building Society and Marks & Spencer.

RSA personal lines managing director Mark Christer said: “We are delighted to be working with John Lewis Insurance.

“John Lewis Partnership is deservedly one of the most respected and trusted brands in the UK and we look forward to bringing our heritage and expertise to their business and delivering first class service to their customers.”
