Hugh Mitchell named non-executive director of insurance group

RSA has appointed Royal Dutch Shell executive Hugh Mitchell as a non-executive director.

He will take up the role on 26 September.

Mitchell is currently chief human resources and corporate officer of Royal Dutch Shell.

Commenting on the appointment, RSA chairman John Napier said: “I am pleased to welcome Hugh to the board. He will bring valuable experience and insights to the board, to the remuneration committee and the company generally.”

Mitchell added: “I’m pleased to be joining the board of RSA. I look forward to working for a company in an essential industry with a long-established heritage, facing the challenges and opportunities of the future.”

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
