The merged company says claims of 2,000 jobs losses are totallly inaccurate

Saga and the AA have denied the GMB’s claims that up to 2,000 jobs could be cut following the £6.15bn merger of the two companies.

In a statement released to Insurance Times a spokesman said: “In bringing together Saga and the AA under a new holding company the aim is to grow both businesses whilst maintaining their separate identities and operations. The allegations by the GMB of mass job cuts are plain wrong. We know of no basis for the union to make sure irresponsible and inaccurate claims. The facts are that all the calls centres are operating at very high levels, both businesses are performing well and we are focused on further development not retrenchment.”
