Homes burned and more at risk as 4000 people evacuated

The US Sheep Fire has charred 4,000 acres and, reached the outskirts of Wrightwood, in the San Gabriel Mountains 80 miles east of Los Angeles, with a population of about 4,000, Reuters reports.

Captain Jason Megowan, a spokesman for the San Bernardino National Forest Service said it has destroyed at least three homes, but is threatening 2,000 more. The cause of the fire was unknown.

Authorities issued a mandatory evacuation order for Wrightwood.
