Simply Business has appointed Neil Edwards as its new chief financial officer.

He replaces Kevin Fleming who left the broker after four years with the company.

Edwards joins Simply Business from MoneyGram, where he was vice president of finance for the Europe, Africa and Emerging Channels.

At Simply Business, Edwards will oversee the finance operations, as well as being involved in strategy, investments and looking at market opportunities.

Commenting on his appointment Edwards said: “When I met the guys at the company and got to really sense what they were doing here, I realised it is not just about insurance. It is about a tech company making a real impact on the industry.

“One of the beauties about coming to organisations like this that it is not all set in stone. There are lots of things we can do to improve the way processes work.”

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
Many congratulations to all the worthy winners and as always, huge thanks to our sponsors for their support and our judges for their expertise.
