Group acquires specialist travel broker.

Underwriting and broking group Somerville has acquired specialist travel broker CHF Facilities.

Trading as Able2Travel, broker CHF specialises in providing travel insurance to travellers with complex medical histories. It controls £1.3m in annual premiums

The acquisition price was not disclosed.

CHF will merge with travel broker Voyager, which is part of the Somerville group.

Voyager, which was a long-term partner of CHF, had arranged the broker’s underwriting facilities for many years.

The deal will take Somerville’s gross written premium to over £50m and will boost its travel, accident, and sickness and health capabilities.

Voyager director Jonathan Buttery said: “CHF’s acquisition by Somerville will enable us to further develop our highly skilled team and deliver an enhanced service for both intermediaries and the travelling public.”

Guildford-based Voyager was established in 1996 and acquired by Somerville in September 2007.
