Atrium has a new chairman and finance director. Charles Bailey, previously a non-executive director replaces Sir Raymond Johnstone as chairman. Simon Curtis becomes group finance director, replacing Steve Cook, who becomes group managing director.

Hance options rise
Royal & SunAlliance finance director Julian Hance was granted options on 40,000 shares, bringing to 459,965 the number of shares over which he holds options.

Wellington warns
Wellington warned that its written premium figures could be impacted by the strength of the pound against the dollar. Chairman John Barton said premiums remained firm and its managed Syndicate 2020 would increase capacity for 2004 by 4.3% to £730m. First half results are due on 28 August.

D&G share grab
Domestic & General continues to attract interest on the stock market. Amvescap strengthened its holding last week, adding 70,000 shares to bring its total interest, including subsidiaries' holdings, to 14.05%.

Amlin options
Amlin Syndicate 2001 underwriting director Tony Holt acquired 154,000 shares in the company by exercising an executive share option. It took his and his wife's total holding to close to 2,463,441 or 0.6%. Amlin shares were trading at 122.5p last Friday.

Stake in SVB
Caledonia Investments has 14.7m shares in SVB after adding just over a million to its holding, taking its stake to 4.01%.

Merry buys in
Hardy Underwriting chief executive Barbara Merry bought 8,950 shares in the company at 219 pence each, lifting her stake to 0.027% or a total of 9,420 shares. The shares were trading at 208.5p on Monday.

Stake in Chaucer
Artemis Investment Management has 10.3% of Chaucer after adding 1.65 million shares to its holdings.
