The Olympic torch is not shining brightly for broker Aon, which has been pipped at the post by its deadly rival Marsh in the race to place cover for the much of the Olympics.

The official insurance sponsor of the games is Australian Mutual Provident.

But an Aon spokesman bashfully admitted that the broker had little Olympic involvement except for placing cover in case the Spanish Olympic association had to pay a win bonus for winning a medley of medals. Ole!
