It's not unusual to insure your chest hair

Lloyd’s has a long history of insuring bits of celebrities’ bodies.

Ugly Betty star America Ferrari has insured her smile, for instance, while Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich (for metal fans) has insured his hands.

Now, it has emerged that Welsh crooner Tom Jones – famous for songs It’s not unusual and Sex bomb (the editor’s favourite) – has apparently approached the market to insure his chest.

According to the Daily Mirror, underwriters were initially wary of the idea, but eventually agreed to a £3.5m sum.

“Like a vintage wine, Tom just gets better with age,” the Mirror’s source said.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
Many congratulations to all the worthy winners and as always, huge thanks to our sponsors for their support and our judges for their expertise.
