Towergate has acquired Hogg Robinson's broking businesses Wilsons Hogg Robinson and Quotecheck.
Wilsons Hogg Robinson is an armed forces insurance specialist, while Quote-check is a telephone and extranet-based insurance intermediary. Their client base and 45 staff, based mainly in Leicester, will transfer to Towergate.
Towergate, established in 1997, provides insurance solutions for the intermediary market and is acquiring the businesses to expand its range of services.
Hogg Robinson chief executive David Radcliffe said the company's management buyout last June had led to a review of all business areas, resulting in the decision to sell.
