Henry joins from BGL

Towergate Insurance has appointed Derek Henry to the newly created role of group carrier relationship director.

Henry will responsible for the commercial development and central oversight of all insurer relationships within Towergate Group. He will report directly to Towergate Underwriting chief executive Clive Nathan.

Henry was previously corporate partnerships director for Junction at BGL and has held senior roles at Capita and RAC.

Towergate Underwriting recently renewed £250m of capacity with RSA, Alliaz, QBE and Zurich.

“As the UK’s largest MGA, it has become increasingly important for us to manage strategic partnerships with insurers effectively,” Nathan said.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
