Travelers will take solicitor sole practitioners from Quinn

Travelers is to work with Quinn’s former solicitors professional indemnity insurance broker, Prime Professions, to offer cover to sole practitioners, the Law Society Gazette reports.

Quinn currently insures about 1,900 sole practitioners and about 1,000 small firms.

Prime director Richard Brown said that Travelers will only take on around three-quarters of the 1,900 sole practitioners currently insured by Quinn, and will charge them premiums 15-20% more than last year.

RSA says it will not write any new solicitor PII business. But Ukranian insurer Lemma Europe, is to increase its PII capacity from £4m to £20m, according to Nick Rowe, business production and development manager at Lemma’s broker Monitor Insurance Services.
