Two trade associations for the bodyshop industry have announced talks to explore joining together. The Vehicle Builders and Repairers Association (VBRA) and the RMI Bodyshop Services Division have opened talks on merging to increase their influence.
RMI President Fred Maguire said the talks were an extremely important move for the industry. "For too long this sector has suffered from disparate viewpoints and, as a result, has not shown its true strength. These moves will ensure a positive and productive way forward and provide benefits for the whole industry."
Ron Nicholson, VBRA director general echoed this. He said: "The directors of the Association have agreed that such a relationship would create significant additional opportunities and benefits for the members and the industry as a whole."
