Is this face the future of insurance? She is young and sexy, full of useful information, works 24 hours a day, and even has a personality – meet Catherine, the virtually perfect insurance sales person.
Eagle Star's newest recruit, like a straight-laced version of Lara Croft, the busty hero of the video game Tomb Raider, has been created to run the insurer's website.
And she is already a hit with her colleagues. The company, a division of Zurich, has produced life-size cut-outs of Catherine that were soon grabbed by several departments to spruce up their offices. There are also posters of Catherine available.
“She is our number one pin-up,” said one Eagle Star member of staff.
Sadly, the classic brunette does not speak and only answers written questions.
But to make her as life-like as possible, she talks about more than insurance. Callers can find out which football team she supports (she is a Newcastle fan) and where she lives (Fareham in Hampshire).
“We analysed what callers normally talk to our operators about, and these were the subjects,” a spokesperson said.
Catherine was picked from a number of models put forward by Eagle Star and US company Artificial Life.
But unfortunately for anyone smitten by cyberbabes, she is also happily married.
Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
