Niche insurance firm Voyager has launched an insurance product for Asian weddings.

A Voyager spokesman said most wedding insurance products are designed for western-style weddings, which revolve around one wedding ceremony and one reception usually on a single day.

The spokesman said these policies are not appropriate for an Asian wedding, or Shaadi, which can have up to six separate events often taking place over several weeks.

These events frequently require higher cancellation cover than many standard wedding policies can provide. Voyager has developed a product to cover all these events under a single policy for a period of up to 94 days.

Voyager director Jonathan Buttery said: "We are delighted to announce the launch of Asian wedding insurance for Asian couples who want to get married."

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
