Danny Walkinshaw looks at the latest insurance stories online

This year’s Biba conference is fast approaching and the market is gearing up for what should be an exciting three days in Manchester.

As the days tick away, we want you to contribute to “Countdown to the conference” which will appear at insurancetimes. co.uk. It’s a chance to let the industry know how you’re making your final preparations for when it all gets underway on 13 May.

You might be a broker with a list of insurers you want to tackle over rates or have plans to meet up for a drink (or five) with old friends.

Or you might be an insurer with a cunning plan to woo the hundreds of brokers who’ll be there.

Remember also to send us your photos so we can show them online when the conference ends. Perhaps you could keep a photo diary of your time in Manchester to show us what you got up to.

News of insurance staff pension pots taking a blow has been attracting the interest of visitors to our site this week, with Aviva following Aon in making wholesale changes to contributions.

John Kitson’s interactive video blog has also been popular as has “Five things you didn’t know about…” which recently has included Ecclesiastical’s Steve Wood and Mike Jones of Gab Robins UK.

Read the latest blog from SSP’s Jonathan Davey and look out for our new guest blogger, former Chubb high net worth guru John Sims, now of Lorega, who will share his wisdom on topical market issues
