New on-line storage facility aimed at helping to deal with claims and fraud

Reliable Robin has set up a website for storing details of personal possessions

A new website that aims to provide householders with reliable evidence of their possessions in the event of a burglary or insurance claim has been launched by three West Sussex businessmen.

The site, www.reliablerobin.co.uk ,  is intended to provide secure, on-line storage for householders’ legal documents and details of their possessions. Photographs of insured items, receipts and other evidence can be up-loaded.

The site is the brainchild of former police officer Julian Homer, who jointly developed it and set up the firm Reliable Robin with fellow businessmen Carsten Pump and Geoff  Hinkley .

The trio claim that the website, which has the tagline “Honesty is the Best Policy”, will become a turning point in the way individual or multiple item descriptions are passed to Police and the insurance industry.

Reliable Robin managing director Carsten Pump said it had written to the Home Office seeking endorsement and was planning to approach the insurance industry for its approval in due course.

“The website includes photographs of the insured items along with receipts and other evidence,” he said. “This information should be useful to people making insurance claims and reporting stolen items to the police.”

Homer said: “Reliable Robin is a revolutionary way of creating a virtual safe where you can store all the details of your property in one simple secure place.

“This allows police and insurance companies to record specific information that is necessary to fulfil certain criteria when reporting theft, loss or damage and will contribute huge benefits to help increase the chances of recovering stolen property and reducing fraudulent insurance claims.”
