Welsh/English bilingual broking website launched

Towergate-owned software house Open GI has teamed up with north Wales broker Tarian to launch the first Welsh/English bilingual quote and buy website for trading motor and home insurance.

The new site enables customers to purchase motor or home insurance online in a choice of either English or Welsh languages.

Tarian, an independent personal lines broker based in Caernarfon, believes the site will provide an additional level of customer service to Welsh speaking customers, who account for 20% of the Welsh population. It hopes to generate an additional 10,000 online policies over the next three years.

Tarian insurance consultant director Gwilym Robert said: “We are delighted to be the first Welsh broker to offer this new service to our customers. Providing a choice is invaluable as it makes the service so much more personal and ultimately makes it easier for the customer, allowing them to choose a language they are most comfortable with.

“We’re excited about the future and aim to incorporate a forum into the site, with commonly asked questions that our customers may have about buying their motor or home insurance policies.”
