Peter Hubbard, 46, was finance director of Lloyds Bank Insurance Services when Dennis Holt was managing director of the bank's insurance business. He continued as insurance business finance director through and after the TSB merger.
After 10 years in the insurance division, he became investment director for the Lloyds TSB efficiency programme in 1999. In March 2000 he was appointed managing director of e-commerce. In April 2001, he was appointed director of strategy and planning for the UK retail bank division.
Hubbard qualified as a chartered accountant in 1981 and worked for Ernst & Young for three years before joining Lloyds Bank.
Colleagues say Hubbard has a relaxed manner. In his spare time, he enjoys mountain biking.
