Willis first quarter profits fall by 50%

Willis today announced a first quarter net income of $72m, 50% less than $148m in the same period last year.

The broker said margins had been affected by a $51m payout and $9m costs arising from the Spitzer enquiry.

Total revenues were reported as $669m compared to $665m for the first quarter last year
