Willis beats off space brokers to win new contract with mobile satellite operator

Willis has scooped a contract with mobile satellite operator Inmarsat to act as its risk management advisor and placing broker for its new generation of satellites.

The agreement covers the launch and in-orbit operation of Inmarsat’s broadband satellite network, Global Xpress, and the additional launch of the Alphasat satellite. 

The appointment also includes responsibility for Inmarsat’s current in-orbit fleet.

Last year Willis was selected as insurance broker fall Inmarsat’s non space policies.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
