Willis Commercial Network (WCN) members will be able to access the Lloyd's and London markets through a new wholesale facility.

The market facility, which was launched this week, will be part of the Willis Global Markets Division, which manages all the group's placements in London, WCN managing director Mark Radburn said. The unit will deal solely with WCN members.

Radburn said he expected network members to place in the region of £10m in gross written premiums in the first 12 months after the launch of the facility, with the potential for growth to be "much more than that".

The facility has been designed to place property, casualty and motor business, he added.

"Providing our members with a dedicated London placing service is a natural extension of the successful relationships we have with our members and further strengthens the overall network proposition," Radburn said.

He described the facility as "excellent news for members", giving them access to an experienced London market and Lloyd's team.

Radburn said 2005 would see continued growth for the network in Scotland, as well as throughout England and Wales. The network has a target of 100 members over the next few years.
