Insurers suffered three weeks worth of claims in just one day as storms battered Britain yesterday, a leading claims director has said.
Axa claims director, David Williams, said it would be days until the insurer could assess the true value of the claims, but he added: “It is certainly going to be costly.”
The clean up continues following yesterday's storms which shook the UK. Gusts of wind up to 100mph hit the country.
In the City Lime Street was closed off to protect passers-by from the windows being blown out of the Willis building which is currently under construction.
Williams said: “The winds seem to have had more of an impact on infrastructure than buildings. The commercial claims will come in later, so we will have to wait and see before we can say the true impact.”
Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
