Lloyd's insurer Yachtsure, part of Alleghany Underwriting, has launched an interactive yacht insurance site which can be found at www.yachtsure.com
It will assist world-wide cruising with certificates issued and premiums payable in local currencies.
Yachtsure.com already insures yachts owned and registered throughout the world and is about to go online in the USA.
Claims will be completed on line, which will include the immediate appointment of a local surveyor if necessary.
Underwriter Paul Miller said the interactive yacht site will provide customers and brokers with a speedy service cutting the average time scale for typical claims payments substantially.
He added: "For boat owners, yachtsure.com provides direct access to online yacht insurance and claims service, 24 hours a day, with the added security of an insurance policy underwritten at Lloyd's."
