JLT Specialty has hired twenty two people from Willis to join its specie, fine art and jewellery team.

David Gordon will be appointed as chief executive of the team.

Prior to joining JLT Specialty, Gordon was global managing director, of Willis fine art, jewellery and Secie division, a role he had held since 2002.

Barry Vickery has also joined JLT’s specie team from Willis where he was an executive director.

Prior to that, he was the leader of Aon Risk Services’ global fine art and specie team.

All of the new roles will be based in the UK.

JLT said the appointment illustrated the broker’s commitment to building its specialty offering.

JLT Specialty chief executive John Lloyd said: “These individuals are widely recognised as being amongst the very best in their specialty area.

“The fact that JLT has been able to attract them to join us is testament to our growing reputation as the world’s leading global specialty broker and as an organisation that offers its people a unique client focused culture.

“The addition of these talented individuals to our existing strong capabilities creates without a doubt the market-leading global business in the Specie, Fine Art & Jewellery sector.”

“Gordon added: “I am delighted to be joining JLT Specialty, a broker with a reputation for prizing deep specialty knowledge, putting its clients first and its entrepreneurialism. I look forward to working with the whole JLT team to create bespoke solutions to meet our clients’ individual needs.”
