Towergate and L&G contracts transferred to LAS

Nineteen former Merlin staff have joined loss adjuster LAS Claims after Merlin went into administration and made more than 200 staff redundant earlier this month.

Six of the new hires are claims handlers who worked on Merlin’s Towergate contract and another six were responsible for the Legal & General book.

The contracts they were working on were have been transferred to LAS.

The other seven new staff are adjusters.

LAS said it plans to recruit a further nine surveyors and five adjusters.

Merlin has 22 staff left on its books after a second round of 50 redundancies were made two weeks ago. To date, 217 Merlin staff have lost their jobs.
