Biography:
Originally from Aberdeen and a graduate of Aberdeen University, Russell Benzies qualified as
a Chartered Accountant in 1983. In 1984 he joined Schlumberger as a field accountant before being promoted to chief executive for the West African operations.
In 1988 he joined British & Commonwealth Holdings as group chief accountant. While there, he was a key member of the finance teams responsible for the disposal of Marshalls and Oppenheimer Fund Management. Benzies joined Euler Trade Indemnity in 1990 and has been chief executive since January 1998.
