’I’m delighted to be joining the team and look forward to building on what they’ve already achieved,’ says appointee
John Lewis Money has appointed Charles Offord as director of financial services.

Offord is set to join on 18 November 2026 and also take a position on the John Lewis Finance board.
He brings more than 20 years of financial services experience, including six years as managing director of Co-op Insurance.
Offord joined Co-op in 2014 as distribution and marketing director and has also served as managing director of Equity Insurance Partnerships and operations director at Insurance Australia Group.
Speaking about his new role, he said: “John Lewis and Waitrose have earned a special place in customers’ lives. We have a real opportunity to build on that relationship by bringing the same commitment to quality, value and service to their financial needs.
”I’m delighted to be joining the team and look forward to building on what they’ve already achieved and to the continued growth of the business, while finding new ways to deliver value for our customers and partners.”
Broker model
Offord succeeds James Mack, who will leave at the end of 2026 to become chief financial officer at Yorkshire Building Society.

The appointment comes as John Lewis Money develops its new broker model across credit and insurance.
This year, the business moved its home and motor insurance propositions from a single-provider model to a panel of insurers, with the aim of providing customers with increased choice and more competitive pricing.
John Lewis Money currently serves around 1.4 million customers across products including home, motor and pet insurance, the Partnership Card and travel money.
Nina Bhatia, managing director of new businesses at the John Lewis Partnership, said: “John Lewis Money is one of the ways we give customers more reasons to choose John Lewis and Waitrose.
“Offord has extensive experience working with major brands and has led a financial services business that customers trust, inside a member-owned organisation, so he understands how a business like ours works.
”He joins as we build on our new model across insurance, credit and travel money.
“I’d like to thank Mack for the work he has done to set John Lewis Money up for its next stage. We wish him every success in his new role.”

His career began in 2019, when he joined a local north London newspaper after graduating from the University of Sheffield with a first-class honours degree in journalism.
He took up the position of deputy news editor at Insurance Times in March 2023, before being promoted to his current role in May 2024.View full Profile
