An action-packed week starts with a trip to Lloyd’s to meet LMA chief David Gittings before tea with Garwyn’s chief executive Artur Niemczewski at the Grosvenor Hotel in Victoria.

Thursday

Towergate chief executive Mark Hodges releases the company’s first-half results today and says Aviva’s disagreement with Broker Network was “a contributory factor” to the network division’s poor first-half performance.

Friday

My attentions turn to preparations for the Monte Carlo Rendez-Vous 2012, which kicks off this weekend and where the good and great of the (re)insurance world will assemble.

Monday

Direct Line sets the agenda today when chief executive Paul Geddes says the insurer is now essentially operating as a “standalone” company from parent RBS.

Tuesday

As the press deadline for this week’s edition looms, the news team gets ready for the RSA media party, where we’ll meet new UK commercial managing director boss Jon Hancock.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
