ABI says fires will be covered during strike action

Commercial and household fires during forthcoming strikes by the fire service will be covered by insurance policies.

The ABI has confirmed fire risks will be covered during the strike but urged businesses to review fire prevention measures.

The ABI has urged commercial property owners to prioritise fire prevention and management by reducing the risk of an arson attack.

Jane Milne, ABI manager, property and household said: "Arson is a constant threat to all businesses. Yet fire is too far down the list of priorities of many businesses. Even a small-scale attack can cause extensive and expensive damage and disruption, which can have crippling financial implications."
