The US operation of Bermuda-based insurer ACE has become a member of the US Aircraft Insurance Group (USAIG) aviation insurance pool.
Membership of the pool means that future ACE USA Business Aviation accounts will be underwritten through USAIG. These include accounts for corporate aviation, non-critical products, pleasure and business aircraft and aviation-associated workers' compensation.
The company said in a statement that it would continue to underwrite products and services offered by its "Airports and Special Risk" and "Satellite" units itself.
ACE USA Aerospace executive vice president Jeffrey Cassidy said: "Significant changes in the insurance and reinsurance marketplaces have driven this decision to redefine the way we participate in the business aviation arena."
