Shares in Admiral rose to a high of 957p up over 37p following the announcement yesterday that the group had extended its long-term coinsurance arrangement with Great Lakes Re.
While Great Lakes currently underwrites 65% of Admiral's UK private motor business, this figure is set to fall to 40% by 2011.
The group also confirmed that it had signed new reinsurance contracts with Swiss Re and Partner Re.
