Construction industry bosses are dumping too much risk on smaller contractors who often find it hard to buy insurance cover, Airmic has warned.

Its contractors special interest group found that 65% thought the level of risk they had to carry had become unacceptable and 80% felt the traditional construction insurance market had to become more flexible.

Companies dealing with risks in different countries will be given a fillip by the first batch of travel guides from Airmic. They cover the different cultures and risk financing arrangements in the US, France, South Africa, Germany and Japan.


The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
