Allianz Cornhill will review its legal panel in 2004.

Legal industry sources said that the review will be undertaken to bring the composition of Allianz Cornhill's legal panel into line with recent changes to its claims service.

At present, Allainz Cornhill's legal panel consists of Beachcroft Wansbroughs, Barlow Lyde & Gilbert, Berrymans Lace Mawer, HBM Sayers, Eldridge & Co and Metcalfes Solicitors.

A spokeswoman for Allianz Cornhill confirmed that the review would take place in 2004, but said that a date had not yet been set.

In August this year, Allianz Cornhill announced plans to consolidate its claims operations in seven offices - Birmingham, Bristol, Glasgow, Leeds, Manchester, Milton Keynes and Woking - down from 12.

The changes, which began earlier this month, see the creation of specialist claims teams. They include:

  • Motor: to handle all first and third party accidental damage motor claims
  • Casualty: to handle lower value casualty claims excluding disease claims
  • Commercial property: to handle all commercial property and business interruption claims
  • Motor personal injury: to handle low value motor personal injury claims
  • Technical: to handle higher value motor and personal injury claims
  • Disease: to handle disease claims.
