Amlin Plus has launched a vet's liability policy.

The policy will cover the liability incurred should a horse die or suffer injury whilst in a veterinary surgeon's care.

The company said that while a standard errors and omissions policy would indemnify against professional negligence, these policies may typically exclude property in the care of the insured or have very low limits of indemnity.

Underwriter David Ashby said: “We believe this new care custody and control policy fills a gap in the coverage available [to vets], thereby and eliminating the potentially very large financial downside.”

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
