Acuitas’ Graham joins in new risk management/cat modelling role

Mark Graham

Lloyd’s insurer Antares has appointed Mark Graham to the newly-created role of chief operating officer.

Graham has taken responsibility for actuarial, risk management and catastrophe modelling with immediate effect and will be assuming responsibility for operational functions in the next six months. He reports to Antares managing director Stephen Redmond.

Graham joins Antares from Acuitas Consulting Ltd, a role in which he has provided consultancy services to Antares in support of its Solvency II implementation. Previously, he spent 10 years working for Chaucer Holdings plc, initially as group actuary and latterly as chief financial officer, with responsibility for all finance, actuarial and operational functions. Prior to joining Chaucer, he was chief actuary for Ashley Palmer Ltd. He is currently the chairman of the LMA’s Solvency II Committee.

Redmond said: “Bringing Mark Graham in to this new role is a significant step in the evolution of Antares. Mark has an extensive knowledge of this market and his awareness of insurance operations is second to none. To have someone of his calibre on our senior team will be a huge asset as we look to develop and expand our business.”
