New deputy underwriter to focus on growing specie book

Lloyd’s underwriter Antares has hired James Glynn as specie deputy underwriter.

Glynn will join the Antares marine cargo & specie team led by Michael Harding.

He moves from Willis where he spent nine years as part of its fine art, jewellery and specie division, specialising in US jewellers block business.

Michael Harding, marine and aviation underwriting manager, said: “James’s insight in to the specie market is extensive, dealing with market participants at all levels and across all major territories. His technical knowledge will be a valuable addition to our team of specialist underwriters.” 

Harding added: “The Antares specie book has seen significant growth in recent years and we look to build on this with the dedicated support and expertise that James will provide.”

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
