80% of shopkeeper risks can now be quoted without referral
APC has launched a shopkeeper product.
The underwriting agency claims 8 out of 10 shopkeeper risks can now quoted without the need for referral.
APC has also introduced a higher no claims bonus, while changes to crime, flood and subsidence areas have been taken into account to increase competitiveness.
An APC spokesman said its shift to area rating last month was the result of talks with brokers to discover why the MGA was uncompetitive for business based in low risk areas when compared to other underwriters.
APC underwriting director Ian Russell said: “Shopkeepers are the backbone of our economy and we are delighted to be able to support them by rolling out a new area rated product that will provide high quality cover at a reasonable rate.”
