Business deal work handshake people

Commercial underwriting agency Arista has hired Darren Kelly as regional trading manager for the north-east of England.

He will be based in the Towergate-owned firm’s Leeds office and report to area manager for the North Jim Morrison.

Arista’s previous Leeds office head Neil Wormald left to become operations director for broking group Henderson in June.

He joins Arista from Troon Underwriting, where he was business development manager. He has also previously worked as a regional sales manager for UK General, an account executive at ECS Insurance Brokers and a channel manager at Zurich.

Kelly specialises in commercial insurance across property, liability and motor. One of his key roles at Arista will be to build and maintain broker relationships in the north-east of England.

Morrison said: “Darren has a wealth of experience and a strong reputation in the North East market. We are pleased that he is joining our team and will be critical in supporting our growth plans in the North East.

“He will be leading the Arista team in Leeds as well as working with our local brokers to identify business needs and opportunities.”
