Ascot Underwriting has hired John Karns as an underwriter in Houston.
Karns previously worked in the US energy market, most recently as assistant vice president with Navigators Insurance Group.
John Flower, president and chief underwriting officer of Ascot Underwriting said: “I am delighted that John is joining our team. His wealth of experience in the local energy market will be invaluable in helping us build on our strong position in the US market.”
Ascot chief executiv Andrew Brooks said: “John’s appointment shows Ascot’s continued commitment to expanding our US business and I am looking forward to him joining the company.”
