Octo and Autonet partner on telematics to allow the vehicle insurance broker to provide telematics devices at point of sale

Ardonagh-owned Autonet will now offer telematics policies at the point of sale through its car dealership network partners. The bike, car and van insurance broker has struck a deal with Octo telematics.

Autonet will be fully connected to Octo’s Next Generation Platform (NGP), which includes telematics data and analytics.

The broker’s customers will have the option to benefit from cheaper insurance thanks to the telematics devices and data. They will be given insights into their driving behaviour, as well as first notification of loss (FNOL), vehicle recovery services and crash and claims.

Autonet director of underwriting, Scott Greenhill said: “It was important that we find a telematics solution that could be implemented immediately from the point of sale so clients can drive off in their new, telematics-enabled car with no delays. Octo were the clear choice for this. Working with them will enable us to develop and deliver innovative, reliable and scalable insurance solutions to our customers. The NGP will play a key role in growing our telematics propositions faster and more efficiently, reducing time and costs while delivering an improved customer experience.
